Approximately 69% of deadly force encounters in the US occur in reduced light environments. The objective of this course is for students to develop the skills and confidence required to operate a weapon system in a reduced light environment.

This introduction class is aimed at home defenders, patrol cops or anyone that might have to help strangers or loved ones; this 4 hour class will give you the basic skills necessary to identify possible threats and/or clear rooms if needed.

This class will not make you and expert in CQB or night operation but is a great base to build on and give you the skills required to join our next level classes like the  “Intermediate low light” or our “force on force” classes (coming soon).

Prerequisites:Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training with no refund.

  • Why low light training is important

  • How the human body operates in low light environments.

  • Selection of low light equipment

  • Employing a handheld flashlight with a pistol

  • Proper handheld and weapon mounted light use and techniques

  • Engaging targets while using a handheld flashlight

  • Using cover in conjunction with a light

  • Moving/shooting with a light (Dry-Fire Real Scenarios)

How do I dress?

You will be at an outdoor range with gravel, grass and dirt walk areas. Wear comfortable flat shoes, shorts or pants, short-sleeve, or tee shirts. Wear or bring layers as the weather can change from morning to evening. Open shoes are not permitted.

What do I need to bring to the range with me?

A hat and bugs spray are recommended during warm weather. If you have sunglasses (Yellow lens) or prescription glasses, bring them. If you have ear protection, bring it. If not, we will provide eye and ear protection at no additional charge. You should bring refreshments and water for your needs.

What happens if I sign up for a class, paid for the course, but can’t make it?

You must contact us 24 hours before the class if you cannot make it and we will apply your payment to a class that suits your schedule. If you do not cancel 24

hours prior to class, you are subject to losing your payment. No refunds are given.

What happens if it is raining the day/night of the class?

The ranges are outdoors. Heavy rain may cancel class due to unsafe conditions on the road or the range. Unless notified the night before, classes will be held as scheduled.

If I register more than one person, or sign up for multiple classes, can I get a discount?

No. The range and insurance carrier charge on a per person basis. We do not receive a discount, so we cannot pass one on to you.
